Please Note: Due to ticketing regulations and crowd management at Borobudur, the order of the tour stops may change. While we usually visit Borobudur first, your itinerary may occasionally be adjusted to visit Prambanan Temple first, followed by the Borobudur tour in the afternoon.

  • Borobudur Temple is an ancient Buddhist temple built in the 8th century, during the golden age of Hinduism and Buddhism in Central Java. It is located 45 km to the northwest of Yogyakarta City Central, 150 km from Semarang City Central, and is well-known as one of the world wonders heritages registered by UNESCO. It is also well-known as a major tourist destination in Jogjakarta.
  • Prambanan Temple is the biggest Hindu temple built in the 9th century, located 17 km from Yogyakarta City Central, well-known as the ancient Hindu temple in Central Java. It is composed of three temples of the gods Brahma, Siva, and Vishnu, surrounded by smaller temples. In Siva Temple, the biggest one, there are 4 rooms where we can see the statues Siva Mahadewa, Agastya, Kali, and Ganesa and reliefs of the Ramayana story. In Brahma Temple, we can also find Brahma statues.

Tour Itinerary

Borobudur Tour

  • 07.00 – or later depend on your flight schedule, pick up and meeting with our team and then drive to Borobudur temple
  • 08.30: Get the entrance ticket at the entrance gate, then walk through the beautiful gardens and up the stairs to reach the courtyard around the temple. From where we can watch the statues with different hand positions from 4 different angles, we can see on the open basement a piece of relief from the Mahakaramawibangga story (stories that contain the moral teachings of cause-and-effect) and take pictures with the whole temple as the background.
  • This temple consists of 3 levels: 2 rectangular levels; the first level is the temple basement; the second level is where you can see the story of Buddha depicted on the temple walls; and the third level is a circular level where there are 72 large stupas, with the largest stupa being the main stupa.
  • 11.00: going back to parking, passing through the souvenir market, but with tour guide help, you can make a shortcut

Prambanan Tour

  • 12.00: driving to Prambanan Temple, but you will stop over at Pawon and Mendut Temple (a small temple where you can see the three big statues of Buddha inside the room of the temple). You can use the rest of the time to take lunch at a local, hygienic restaurant.
  • 13.00: Arrive at the Prambanan temple complex, which is composed of three temples of the gods Brahma, Siva, and Vishnu and is surrounded by smaller temples. In Siva Temple, the biggest one, there are 4 rooms where we can see statues of Siva Mahadewa, Agastya, Kali, and Ganesa and reliefs of the Ramayana story. In the Brahma Temple, we can also find Brahma statues.
  • 16.00 – going back to hotel end of service
